Please let us know how the Hawthorne House board can improve activities and communications for the Raymond Cape Community?

  • Although we live in Maine year-round, we summer on Thomas Pond. I’m sorry we miss events at the Hawthorne House other than during our season there – (Our cottage isn’t heated.)
  • Are any of your “off season” events during the day so we could participate as a day trip? Thank you!
  • Be open to any ideas, which I am sure you are already.
  • I grew up in So. Casco but live in Northern California, so I support the Hawthorne Assn. only through donations and don’t attend any of the activities you offer.
  • Have you ever considered conducting summer tours by volunteer guides for paying customers? Besides the House itself, you could include a walking tour past the Manning Mansion and a visit to the cemetery behind it, which is where Richard Manning and some of his family are buried, along with his contemporaries and people that Nathaniel would have come in contact with, including Jacob Watkins and various Dingleys. It might be a way to raise money to support the upkeep of the House.
  • I thought the raffle was so much fun and would like to see that as regular as possible.
  • Perhaps offer musical concerts or comedy events.
  • Really? Just the Raymond Cape Community?  That was disappointing to read.  You all have known each other for so long, your social interactions come so easily to you when you’re together, you have to be careful to not be exclusive without realizing it.  It’s why I haven’t enjoyed the cookouts frankly.
  • The board is doing a great job! Wine tasting might be a fun night.
